More on Blackwater

It has recently come to light that in 2004 the CIA paid Blackwater to assassinate “high-level terrorists”.

This makes concerns regarding Blackwater’s illegality, its essential divorce from ordinary law, much graver. If the CIA can give Blackwater secret assignments, claim to have no knowledge of their operation, and maintain “plausible deniablity” in the event that the origins of such crimes are discovered, there’s no limit to what they can do. After all, it isn’t the CIA carrying out these hits – it’s Blackwater!
